House in danger of collapsing
KAWANG:
A 59-year-old resident of Kampung Somboi in Kinarut is worried that her house would collapse due to the erosion of the river bank. According to Simah Nasir, the matter has been brought to the attention of the authority concerned three times but no action was taken.
“I could not sleep properly at night, especially during downpours because I am worried the house will collapse into the river,” she said.
Simah urged the authority concerned and the community representative to look into the problem.
“I plead to the authorities concerned to look into our problem and take immediate and necessary action,” she said in between tears.
